Laser welding - The advanced welding technique
Laser is the abbreviation of light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation and it emits light using the process of stimulated emission. Laser has extended itself in the process of welding where multiple metals are joined together. It penetrates deeply and minimizes the heat input and has a high power density. The two types of laser used are solid and gas state lasers, and the types of laser used are co2, ND YAG and diode laser. It is used in high volume application because of the capability of gas lasers and used in various industries. The laser beam welding is a quality type welding which welds smaller and thinner components with increased speed and it is also used for joining molded thermo plastics. Dual beam welding technique is a process that combines two high energy beams and it is more advantageous than single beam welding process.
